Why Cape Town is a great city to Elope in
by Leann McCabe 15 Sept, 2020
It's no secret that Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, who wouldn't want to get married here? From wine tasting to mountain climbing, safaris & shopping, this city really does offer it all, not to mention we have some of the best chefs & restaurants you could ever imagine. Getting married in Cape Town is an experience of a lifetime, and weddings held here are often turned into 3 or 4 day celebrations, where couples & their guests have a mini vacation in amongst the elaborate wedding celebration. - pre-wedding celebration the day before where guests get together, relax and drink some of the finest wines the Cape has to offer, - the wedding day, - post wedding celebration where the couple and their guests have a braai (barbeque) and recuperate from the evening before! We undoubtedly have an array of phenomenal wedding venues to choose from, situated in various locations including directly in the winelands, beach and in the CBD, not to mention on game lodges. What's more is that the exchange rate proves to be very favourable for couples and their guests who live abroad. It definitely assists them with affordability, from flights, venue hire, food & wine, right down to the wedding suppliers. It's not uncommon to have feedback from an overseas couple to say that the wedding they had in Cape Town would have cost them double or even triple in their home country! - And we sure do have extreme quality when it comes to wedding industry colleagues (photographers, videographers, hair & makeup artists, cake bakers, floral designers) Having a wedding planner on board whilst you live overseas is highly beneficial, and one of the greatest assets you can invest in when planning your wedding from another country. A professional wedding planner will be your eyes and ears this side of the world, and will no doubt give you the support and resources you need to have your dream day. Come to Cape Town! https://www.capetown.travel/
Venue Coordinator Vs. Wedding Coordinator
by Bells & Whistles Wedding Planner 15 Sept, 2020
A venue coordinator and a wedding coordinator walk into a bar..... Just kidding, that's not the way this blog post starts! There is a big difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding coordinator/planner, however this is not known by many couples when they first start out planning their wedding, and often they only discover this much later on in the planning process or even afterwards. So simply put, a venue coordinator is there to coordinate anything that relates to the venue, and only the venue. Their responsibilities lie solely with their place of work. In other words, they do not coordinate with the third party vendors that have been booked by the couple. They also do not manage the wedding day timeline (getting ready, other suppliers set up at the venue). It is also possible for a venue coordinator to do all the "venue planning" up until the day, create a function sheet based on all necessary information, and then hand it over to a duty manager who will then run the wedding. A wedding coordinator is there to coordinate anything that relates to outside of the venue for your wedding ( & what happens at the venue as well). A wedding coordinator manages every single detail pertaining to the wedding - decor set ups & breakdowns, supplier arrival times, and correct set up areas and is also onsite in most cases until the very end of the wedding (if that is the contract you have selected) A venue coordinator is great if you've planned your entire wedding yourself, and it's small in numbers with a few suppliers - and sure some venue coordinators do go the extra mile for their couples - but for total peace of mind, a wedding coordinator is a better option.
